10 Things in my Bag Tag

So you've all seen the videos of "What's in my bag?" but my friend Carly at Carly in the Middle actually invented this tag and tagged me in it so here it is:

First off this is the bag I've been using for the past few months. It's from River Island as you can tell and I think my next handbag purchase will definitely be the Zara City Bag but for now this is it.

1. My glasses.
I bring my glasses everywhere because I don't have to where them all the time but it's so inconvenient if someone says "can you see that thing over there?" and I'm like "um..nope.."

2. My purse.
Obviously every one would have a purse in their bag. It carries my millions of pounds-joking but it does carry money. My purse is from a brand called LYDC and I've never heard of them but it was a present-isn't there an old superstition that you can't buy yourself a purse?
3. Tissues
An absolute essential. They can be lifesavers at times especially with the weather in Belfast always being cold  and when it is even slightly windy my eye waters like nothing else.

4.Body Spray
I much prefer carrying a body spray to perfume, it's less breakable and less chance of leakage and its lighter. This one is my favourite Charlie by Revlon mini in "Pink".

5. Polo mints
Sometimes it's mints, sometimes it's chewing gum but no matter what I always have some form of breath freshening product with me because you never know what you might eat or who you might meet (unintentional rhyme there) and it's just generally nice to have nice breath.

6. My house keys
I feel rather important having a key to my house although I rarely ever use it. I have my very old and scarped One Direction key ring which my bestfriend bought me a few years ago for my birthday and a tiny little red heart keyring.

7. My iPod cover
My cousin bought me this for Christmas and I love it but the "wings" on it are slightly annoying which explains why it isn't on my iPod but my niece asked me to name him Charlie after her favourite story "Charlie Bear in Space"(or something along those lines).

8. Random mints.
I'm sensing a minty theme. I remember where I got these- I was out for dinner one night and it annoys me to no end when you don't get mints with the bill (I think it's cause whenever we went out for dinner when I was a child we'd always go to the same place and they always gave you mints) so when I got them I just stocked up and this is what is left...I should probably throw these away.

9. My make up essentials for top ups
Every girl in the history of the world will have one of these and if you're reading this and you don't...go get one. This bag is from Avon and it was a "gift-with-purchase" type thing and in it I keep everything I could possibly need for top ups after a day out including lip balm, concealer, a nail file, a mini hair brush, a compact mirror etc.

10. Hand Cream
Although I use hand cream mostly in winter I still tend to use it all year round because your hands can never be too soft can they?

So there you have it, 10 random things that can be found floating around my bag. Other things not mentioned include copious amounts of bobby pins, another hair brush and a lot of discarded jewelry.
I don't tag anyone in particular to do this but if you feel like it go ahead and by all means say I tagged you.

Have a great weekend whatever you get up to!

13 Personal Questions Tag

Do you feel like you don't really know me? Not after this post...

So I was tagged last week by Megan at The Beauty Pier (Thanks Megan!) to do this tag and I haven't really revealed much about myself on here so prepare to be educated on the person that is Rachel.

1. What do you order from Starbucks?
Starbucks have brought 3 new frappachino flavours I believe and I am absolutely in love with the triple caramel one, every time I pass a Starbucks I just lust after one. They're so yummy!

2. What's the one thing in your closet that you can't live without?
I would have to say my blue tie dye t shirt. Over the past few months I have worn it to death. It is oversized and so versatile and the blue colours in it are so pretty. I bought it from a old vintage shop in Belfast which smelt like musky perfume and old mints for only £20!

3. What's the one thing people don't know about you?
I'm scared to look out of windows at night. I understand how odd that sounds but the idea of looking out a window when it's dark scares me to no end. It all started when I was 9 and doing a project for school about the Egyptians. As you may or may not know when Egyptians died they put their organs in canopic jars which were decorated with animal heads and that's what I used to imagine I would see if I looked out a window at night and even now that 7 years has passed since then and I know that animal headed beasts don't sit outside my window I can't help but feel uneasy about looking into the unknown with just glass protecting me.

4. What's the one thing you want to do before you die?
Well I actually have a bucket list with 37 things I want to do before I die. If you're interested it's here: http://princess-wallflower.tumblr.com/bucketlist

5. What's one food you could not live without?
Definitely pineapple. I love it so much, as much as it makes my tongue feel funny and it is a pain to chop it up the taste out weighs all of that. There is nothing better than fresh pineapple for breakfast.

6. What's one quote you live your life by?
I don't really have one that I would say I "live my life by". But one that I love is a Taylor Swift one, "Being fearless isn't about being 100% unafraid. It's being terrified but you jump anyway."

7. What do you like and dislike about the blogging community?
I love that it's a place to hear other people's opinions on things you're also interested in without even having to be in the same country as them. I don't think I dislike anything really.

8. What's the no.1 song on your iTunes?
Apparently, according to my iTunes it's Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift.

9. What kind of style would you describe yourself as having?
I think my style is quite simple, quirky in some ways but overall quite dull and no fuss.

10. Favourite number?
2! I don't why but I've always had an odd obsession with the number 2.

11. Two hobbies?
Well I would considering blogging as one and I attend a dance/drama class every Saturday for 3 hours so that would be my 2nd one.

12. Two pet peeves?
When people hit me on the head like even if a family member gives me a pat on the head as a joke or whatever it instantly annoys me. And another would be being ignored. I absolutely can't stand being ignored or if I say something to someone and the person genuinely doesn't hear me I still get annoyed because..well I don't know why.

13. Your guilty pleasure?
Old TV shows. I'm forever watching Lizzie McGuire, Zoey 101, Hannah Montana etc. TV  was better when I was a child now a days Disney channel, Nickelodeon etc just isn't the same.

I know this was a super long post but if you lasted right to the end then thank you! If you fancy doing this then go ahead just say I tagged you.
I hope you feel like you know me better now!

My Week In Pictures #3

I know there has been no other beauty related post this week but I have a few up my sleeve. So without further ado here is my food filled mwip #3

1. I had the most amazing lunch in the Whitefort,Belfast with my mum and sister. I had the nachos and by the time they were photographed half were gone oops.
2.I find making my bed the most laborious task but I love the way my bed looks when it's made. Is that weird? I think it is..moving on..
3.Rebecca (who is featured again in picture 4 and expect to see a lot of her from now on too) wearing a hula skirt representing Hawaii at our school International Day.
4. Rebecca (again) with her pizza when we went for dinner last night for a friend's birthday, I must say it was fab.
5. Today I had quite a relaxed day like I do every Sunday and I picked up Grazia magazine on the way to the pub with my family for a few drinks.

So there you have it, a look back at this week's happenings.

My Week in Pictures #2

(I've tried a new layout for my "my week in pictures" post this week, I'm not sure I'll stick with it though.)

1.Playing outside in the garden with my nieces (although they refused a picture) this week when the weather was nice.
2.So much revision!!!!!!!
3.I have slightly rekindled my love for rings this week. The past few months I haven't really wore any but in the picture above I am wearing a 3D horse one and a gold heart one both from Internacionale.
4. My converse are another fashion item that I've loved this week. My low top red converse haven't left my feet all week.
5. I have been through 5 bottles of this since last Saturday, anyone else think I have a bit of a ginger ale addiction? Also, people find it really weird that I don't use it as a mixer I just drink it alone.
6. Tonight all I've been doing is burning my fave candles and watching TV, having a lazy Sunday! (Candles pictured: Bloomes "Vanilla Surprise" and the one in the white floral jar is from BHS but I'm not sure of the name because it was a present.)

Hope you all had a great week, whatever you got up to.

my week in pictures #1

This week has been a very tiring week with an exam at the end but just as busy and fun as usual. So I had Monday off school, thanks to the bank holiday (not very relaxing however).
1. On Bank Holiday Monday my Dad and Brother ran the Belfast City Marathon to raise money for the Children's Hospice, a worthy charity. They finished in 4 hours 55 minutes!
2. It was a lovely day on Tuesday so we sat outside to eat lunch, Shannon was adamant to get a photo!
3. What can be better than a cold drink or an ice lolly on a sunny day? Oh I know, hot fudge cake with custard courtesy of Rebecca.
4. Studying in the library was so boring but I had an exam on Friday, Carly and Amy are working hard in that photo.
5. I actually did something social on Friday night and I went to see Oblivion in the cinema. I would not recommend it AT ALL it was too confusing, riddled with scientific inaccuracy and poor acting.
6. I was looking forward to a relaxing Sunday but instead I have to sort this mess. How fun.

See you next week for "my week in pictures #2"

follow me on twitter

Quick post guys just to say follow me on twitter if you would like to see updates on my life and what I'm having for breakfast etc. I promise I'm fun on there:)
https://twitter.com/rachelvslife

p.s April favourites will be my next blog post and it'll be my first favourites blog post so I'm SUPER excited, watch out for that!

I'm an awful vlogger!

I attempted to make some interesting vlogs for you guys this week but on Friday I was super busy with "Gig Night" so even though I was planning to vlog I couldn't (cry) but I thought I'd redeem it by making a cool vlog for Saturday.
"Where is that cool vlog?" you might ask. Well, basically I am an idiot and an amateur and I left my camera at home.

Today I:

  • Went to my dance/drama classes
  • Got my second piercing in my left ear (ouch!)
  • Walked practically all over the city centre to find somewhere that my friend Shauna could get an industrial bar piercing but sadly no luck for her.
  • Ate subway
  • Went home and chatted to my sister about childhood memories with her (super nostalgic)
  • Socialized with my cousin Chloe
  • Watched youtube videos
  • Wrote this post

So as you can see the start of my day would have made a great vlog, that is if I had remembered something to film it on but I solemnly promise now that next weekend I will make super interesting vlogs because on Friday I am going to a play that my friends are in called "West Side Story" then on Saturday I am taking a trip to Dublin for the final of the Irish Youth Music Awards and on Sunday I am volunteering at a show doing some Front of House/usher type things i.e greeting the audience, tearing tickets at the door etc.

My lack of post ideas is so upsetting too, I'm so unimaginative so if you have any suggestions give me them:)

Hi, I'm new

I'm new to blogging, in fact this is my first post. I watch a lot of youtubers though and almost all of them have blogs so I decided to make one and find out what I was missing.
Most of my posts from here on are probably going to be beauty and fashion related so if you're interested in that field then be sure to check out my blog.
